Why Do I Need

Atlas International Insurance?

There are many reasons to consider Atlas International insurance for your trip abroad:

  • International travel can represent financial risk. No matter your planned destinations or activities, there’s always a chance you could experience an unanticipated travel complication, accident, or sickness that calls for travel medical insurance. Atlas International can cover eligible hospitalizations, surgery, travel delays, and other expenses required to get your trip back on track.

  • Your regular health insurance may provide limited or no coverage once you leave your home country. That’s why the U.S. Department of State recommends that you “ask your medical insurance company if your policy applies overseas – and if it covers emergency expenses such as medical evacuation.” If it doesn’t, Atlas International can provide the international coverage you need.

  • An emergency medical evacuation can be very expensive. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), medical evacuation can cost more than $100,000. Atlas International provides up to $1 million for a covered emergency medical evacuation.

  • Your visa may require travel medical insurance or proof that you’ll be able to pay for unexpected expenses. Atlas International meets the requirements of many visas, including Europe’s Schengen visa. It also provides policyholders with a visa letter that can serve as proof of coverage or help prove your ability to pay for unexpected medical expenses.
