Travel Insurance for Schengen Visa Travel
Apply for Travel Insurance for your Europe Trip
Visiting the Schengen Region
The Schengen Area is a region with free-flowing borders in Europe thanks to diplomatic agreements between specific countries. You can travel between these countries with just one visa! This agreement was originally signed in 1985 in Schengen, Luxembourg as its namesake. It includes both EU and non-EU countries.
You can apply for a visa and pay the application fee of €90 for adults, and €45 for children between 6-12 years old (as of 2025). Most tourists apply for the Type C visa which is valid for 90 days in an 180 day period. Processing time can average 15 working days but applying at least 45 days in advance of your travel plans is wise. You cannot apply for a visa earlier than 3 months before your trip. You should verify all requirements for your situation and reasons for travel through official channels.
Schengen Visa Insurance
Healthcare costs can be quite high, and the national healthcare system of these countries often will not cover international visitors. An Atlas Travel plan by WorldTrips offers
- Up to $2,000,000 USD for unexpected injury or illness
- Up to $1,000,000 USD for emergency medical evacuation
- Accidental death (AD&D) and repatriation benefits
- 100% coverage for eligible expenses incurred in the Schengen Area (after the deductible and up to the overall maximum limit)
Atlas Travel
Atlas Travel is our standard travel medical insurance plan designed for single international trips. It is the most popular of our travel medical insurance plans.
Atlas Premium
Atlas Premium provides the same benefits as our basic Atlas Travel plan with higher coverage limits for many important benefits. It may be ideal for shorter trips.

Apply early so that you can provide proof of insurance letter along with your Schengen visa application. Get a quote in minutes online so you can check that off your travel prep list.
