Living Unplugged: Five Worry Free Vacations

Sometimes people need to get away for a while and spend a weekend or longer at a place that lets them relax. Whether it is getting away from a demanding job or a hectic home life, taking a worry free vacation is a great way to get rid of stress and disconnect from a busy life. People relax in different ways; here are some places that offer different ways to relax and enjoy a worry free vacation.

St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands

The U.S. Virgin Islands offer visitors many different ways to enjoy their vacation. There are many all-inclusive trips out there, but you can also schedule everything yourself if you are inclined to do so. Either way, there are sandy beaches, beautiful blue water, luxurious hotels, and tons of activities available at the U.S Virgin Islands.

St. John is a popular island for tourists to visit, but you still have plenty of space to get away from civilization. St. John is one of the few places that you can relax on the pristine beach in the morning, explore a historical church in the afternoon, and have a one-of-a-kind dinner in the evening. While roughly 60% of the island is a national park, there are still plenty of places to shop, eat, and take in some of the other things that St. John has to offer.

Tangalooma Resort, Australia

Tangalooma is a resort township on the west side of Moreton Island in Queensland, Australia. The resort offers a stunning view of the beach and plenty to do, both in or on the water, as well as on the island.

Common attractions for many guests are dolphin feeding and whale watching. If neither of those things seem interesting, guests have many more options including a tour of the island, four-wheeling on the beach, enjoying one of the many pools, sand tobogganing down 150 foot high sand hills, helicopter rides, parasailing, snorkeling around boat wrecks, playing beach games, and more. Guests can also choose to take it easy and enjoy the beaches, restaurants, and bars that the resort offers.

Rotorua, New Zealand

Rotorua is a city in the north island of New Zealand. It is known for its geothermal activity, most notably the Pohutu Geyser at Whakarewarewa. The Rotorua region has several lakes, and many people spend time fishing, waterskiing, and swimming. Rotorua features several luxury hotels and resorts, as well as several top-of-the-line spas. It has been known for its spas since the 1800s.

There are a large number of spas to choose from and most of them offer several types of services, including mud baths, sulfur spas, mud therapies, and mud spa products that customers can take home. According to Matt Long, "You and the kids can play around in geothermal mud and hot springs (great for year round swimming), witness the sky-high geysers or unwind with a therapeutic massage or mud wrap."

Blacktail Ranch, Montana

If your idea of a worry free vacation is spent outdoors viewing mountains and riding horseback, then Blacktail Ranch is the place for you. Guests at Blackail Ranch have a chance to see some of the most beautiful mountains that North America has to offer.

In addition to the beautiful scenery at Blacktail Ranch, guests can enjoy fly fishing on some of Montana's best rivers, or bird watching and other wildlife viewing. Over the River and Through the Woods Scenic Byway, Oregon

Some people find that driving a vehicle can be relaxing. Maybe they enjoy the scenery or maybe it's the rumble of the engine that calms them. Either way, this 66-mile route will surely appeal to anyone who likes to drive. The Byway begins in the farmland of the Willamette Valley, Oregon, and winds its way next to streams, through dense forests, climbs into picturesque foothills and eventually into gorgeous mountains.

While traveling along, drivers will pass through some of Oregon's oldest settlements and experience the geographic diversity that Oregon offers. This scenic route will give drivers a glimpse of what Oregon has to offer, and most likely entice them to stop and experience the wilderness and farmlands along the way. Most of the Byway parallels the Santiam Wagon Road. This road was built to lead settlers away from the Willamette Valley to the pasture lands near the center or Oregon.
