Why Do You Need International Student Insurance?

Easy. In many cases, it’s required.

  • Your visa may require student medical insurance. StudentSecure meets or exceeds most visa requirements (including the J-1 visa). You’ll get a visa letter you can use as proof of coverage.

  • Your program or school may require student medical insurance. StudentSecure meets the requirements of many universities. Opting out of school-sponsored coverage? If your school requires a waiver to be completed, please email it to worldtrips-waivers@worldtrips.com.

  • Your regular health insurance may not cover you for unexpected injury or illness abroad. And very few plans pay for emergency medical evacuation.

Learn more about Air Doctor

  • Two Air Doctor Visits per Policy: Policyholders receive two visits without requiring claims. Plans effective for more than six months are allocated three visits.

  • Telehealth Services for U.S. Policies: For StudentSecure plans covering the U.S., Air Doctor visits are limited to telehealth (video) services. In-person visits may utilize the UnitedHealthcare PPO network.

  • Outside the U.S.: Choose from in-clinic visits, telehealth (video), or in-home appointments within your coverage area. Air Doctor connects you with vetted, local providers for convenient care wherever you are.
